PokerStars PCA Main Event enters Day 3. partypoker adds yet another sponsored pro to its lineup. Check out these stories and more in the Thursday Hit and Run.

PCA Main Event Nears Final Table

The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure entered Day 3 on Thursday with 104 players remaining to bein the day. Oleg Titov started the action off as the chip leader with Adrian Mateos, David Peters, Liv Boeree, Barry Greinstein and Kevin MacPhee among the notables who began the day with chips. At the time of this writing, 48 players remain with Titov still holding on to the chip lead, followed closely by Gleidibe Goncalves.

Peters, Mateos, Liv Boreree, Koray Aldemir and Barry Greenstein are all still alive.

The other PCA event of the day, the $25k Single Day High Roller attracted 58 to the last high roller of the tournament. A total of 12 players remain as of 7 PM ET with Mikalai Vaskaboinikau holding the chip lead. Igor Kurganov, Isaac Haxton, Timothy Adams, Steffen Sontheimer and Nick Petrangelo still alive.

– Joni “Bustoville” Jouhkimainen is the latest poker pro to sign with partypoker as a sponsored pro. The Finnish pro has earned $2.5 million in live tournament cashes in his career including a 3rd place finish in the 2012 Barcelona Main Event.

– As expected, some states are making moves to regulate online gambling in their moves in their state. In the first two weeks of 2018, we have already heard from New York and Michigan and now its West Virginia’s turn. The bill would regulate online gambling in the state by the West Virginia Lottery Commission and would authorize West Virginia to enter into interstate online gambling agreements.

– The 4th annual American Poker Awards are set to be awarded on February 22nd at the Andaz West Hollywood.

– Grinderschool.com poker training video of the day continues the “$215 MTT Review” series. This episode focuses on early to mid stages of the tournament.

– Penn National Gaming wins the right to select the first of up to 10 of Pennsylvania’s mini casinos after its $50.1 million bid was the largest of four bids. A license for a second mini casino will be auctioned off on January 24th.
