Hit and Run: Full 2017 WSOP Schedule Released; Jennifer Tilly Leads Aussie Millions Main Event after Day 2

The full schedule of this summer’s WSOP has been released. Meanwhile, on the other side of the Pacific Jennifer Tilly currently holds the lead in the Aussie Millions. Check out these stories in more in the mid-week Hit and Run.

Complete 2017 WSOP Schedule Released

The full 2017 WSOP schedule has been released. It will once again be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino from May 30th to July 17th and will be comprised of 74 gold-bracelet events. The 2017 WSOP will continue to offer some of the largest buy-ins and prize pools, but also aims to offer “something for everyone” in the new schedule.

In addition to a schedule of eight new events — which includes two online events — the WSOP has also announced some improvements to the player experience. Credit cards will now be accepted payment at the live registration window while cash and casino chips will continue to be allowed. Credit card purchases will also be increased to $10,000, meaning that players can enter events with buy-ins up to $10,000 with their credit card.

New Events in the 2017 WSOP Schedule

The diversity in schedule means that not only are many games represented but also many buy-in levels. On June 3rd, the WSOP will host one of the lowest buy-in events ever – an online event with a $333 buy-in that will guarantee $333,000. Two other events – a $3,333 High Roller (Event #61) and a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event will also be played online from start to finish.

This year’s schedule will include eight new events. In addition to the two new online events, the World Series of Poker is introducing the following tournaments:

  • May 31st – $10,000 Tag Team No-Limit Hold’em with 2-4 person teams
  • June 3nd – $333 WSOP.com Online No-Limit Hold’em with $333,333 Guaranteed with unlimited rebuys
  • June 9th, 16th, 23th, 30th, July 7th – $365 “The Giant” No-Limit Hold’em – Includes five opening flights with each flight playing deep into the money. Remaining players “are paid out an amount equivalent to the last paid place of the night, with their chips bagged and remaining prize pool carried over to Day 2 cumulative re-start on July 8.” This tournament features unlimited re-entry during each Day 1.
  • June 12 – $2,620 “The Marathon” No-Limit Hold’em with 26,200 starting chips. The tournament includes 100-minute levels and will be held over 5 days
  • June 20 — $1,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em. Tournament will feature 20-minute levels and s $300 bounty per player.
  • June 26 — $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Split 8 or Better
  • June 30 — $2,500 Mixed Big Bet Event including the following games: NLHE, PLO, 2-7NL, NL 5 Card Draw, Big O, PLO Hi-Lo, 2-7 Pot-Limit Triple Draw
  • July 1 — $3,333 High Roller WSOP.com Online No-Limit Hold’em Unlimited re-entry.
